Today marks the 38th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon.
April 30th, 1975: This was the day South Vietnam lost the war against North Vietnam, ending the Vietnam War. This was the day communist had taken over, and also many families fleeing for their lives. This was the day many Vietnamese people, including my grandparents, fled to America to have a better life for them and the generations to come.
This was a day to remember the people who lost their lives to fight for our freedom. This is what makes me proud to be a Vietnamese American, and also makes me proud of my Vietnamese culture.
